HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year everyone! 2024 has ushered in many changes for the Fredericksburg Homing Pigeon Club. One in which we have a completely new slate of officers moving forward. Jim Randall and I have enjoyed our time and efforts in moving the club forward over the past 7 or 8 years, however; as the saying goes: "all good things must come to an end." I am confident that the new officers will continue to push our club forward in all that they have planned, leading to many great things. Stay tuned!

While this blog has been a labor of love, I am not compensated for doing this, I have lost my steam in keeping it going.  So it is with deep regrets that I post this message stating that the blog will no longer be updated.  If you need to contact our club, we can be found on Facebook or through the American Racing Pigeon Website.  I thank you for your understanding.

Important Information About Upcoming Young Bird Season

Hello fellow club members! Just a friendly reminder to start thinking about creating your young bird team roster if you plan on having me enter them into our club unit and then transfer them into your clocks.

Please remember to:

1) List the band numbers in numerical order from LOWEST to HIGHEST

2) Include the completed band information (Ex: 365 AU 2022 FHPC)

3) Include the color and sex of each bird

(Use the reference chart I shared when identifying colors)

4) Contact me to set up a time to register your electronic chip rings before the first shipping

Thank you and here's to a great season for everyone!

Where to Start?

Hello club members and those following us!  It has been forever and a few years since I have posted anything on our web blog.  I apologize for that, but sometimes life gets in the way of all things pigeons.

Our club is growing by leaps and bounds and we could not be happier.  We are currently in young bird season 2021.  We have the most flyers participating since I moved down here and joined the club in 2013. 12 lofts have been regularly shipping and that is without some of our regular Maryland guys this year. After 4 weeks of racing, we have had several first time flyers get their first wins!!!  Arie van Eyk has now won a race for 3 consecutive weeks in his first year of racing.  John Daly won his first race yesterday.  Troy Shifflet won his first race last week as well.  3 flyers new to the hobby showing the "old timers" how it is done! Congratulations gentleman.  Rounding out the winners circle are veteran flyers, James Randall, Tyrone Wilson and Samuel Guerrero with one win each.

Stay tuned for more exciting news in the weeks to come.

Yours in the sport,

Tom (Patriot Hill Loft)

2020 Old Bird Season *** Update

Unfortunately COVID - 19 has caused a cancellation of the scheduled races found below.  We are looking into alternatives if this mess clears up in time for training and racing of young birds. It may involve doing an Old Bird and Young Bird season simultaneously with separate releases for both.  Stay tuned!
